Cashing your personal check at AA State Check Cashing is an application program. You will need to bring a few things when you come to our store in Woodlawn.
- Your Maryland Drivers License or Maryland State ID.
- A printout of your Bank Account of the last 60 days starting with the day you come in showing daily balance
- We need your last pay stub to verify your employment
- We will use your social security or retirement income as alternate source as long as it is “direct deposited. Please provide bank statements
Please note that any NSF or negative bank balances or transactions that show up on your bank account may disqualify you for cashing a check.
We charge a 10% check cashing fee plus a $5 one time membership fee for first timers.
You will be allowed to post-date a check up to 14 days.
We do not buy-back checks, roll over or do any extensions for any reason. The date that is on the check is the date the check is deposited.
Here is an example of our fee schedule: If you come to cash a $100 check on your first time, you will leave with $85 after all applicable fees and membership deducted (-$15). On your second visit and visit after that, if you cashed a $100 check, you would be leaving with $90 after applicable fees were deducted (-$10).
